Uninstall MSN Live Messenger - Here's how
If you no longer need the MSN Live Messenger, you can uninstall it from your PC. We show you how it works.
Uninstall MSN Live Messenger
Messenger has been integrated in the "Windows Essentials" additional package for some time. You also have to start here to uninstall Messenger.
- Open the "Uninstall a program" window in the Control Panel. To do this, use the following practical tip.
- In this window, look for the entry "Windows Essentials" or "Windows Live Essentials". It may take a while to load the list completely.
- Now click on "Uninstall / Change" or "Remove" depending on the Windows version. In the next window, select "Remove at least one Windows Essentials program".
- Check the "Messenger" entry in the next window. If you want to remove other Essentials programs as well, you can set additional ticks.
- Confirm the process by clicking on "Uninstall" to remove the MSN Live Messenger.
This practical tip was written for the Windows versions XP, Vista, Windows 7 and 8. After uninstalling Messenger, you should connect your contacts to your Skype account.
