Extract music from iPhone apps - how it works
You can extract music and other audio files from an iPhone app on your computer. This guide shows you how to get game sounds and tones as a file.
Extract app sounds from iPhone
In order for you to transfer the audio files to your computer, iTunes needs to synchronize your iDevice. You have already saved a copy of the app on your computer. Then proceed as follows:
- Open the Music library and go to iTunes> iTunes Media.
- In the "Mobile Applications" folder you will find all synchronized iOS apps as an "IPA" file. You can't do much with that alone. For the next steps, copy the app in question and paste it into your documents.
- Then change the file format of the copy to ".zip". To do this, you must have activated the file extensions and right-click to open the context menu.
- There you select "Rename" and replace ".ipa" with the extension ".zip".
- Now you have to unzip the ZIP file. This works for example with WinRar.
- In the extracted file you will find the Payload folder, in which the individual components of the app are located in an APP folder. Open the folder with a double click (Windows), you will also find all the sound files of the app. Mac users right-click the APP folder and choose "Show Package Contents".
Tip: Sort the files in the Payload folder by right-clicking and selecting "Sort by"> "File type". So you can find all audio elements faster. We will show you how to transfer music to your iPhone in another practical tip.
