Use MyWallet - how it works
With MyWallet you can pay cashless since May 2014. This article shows you what the service can do and how you can best use it.
Update: MyWallet is history
- The demand in Germany was not as high as Deutsche Telekom had hoped. For this reason, MyWallet will be discontinued at the end of 2016.
- At the beginning of the year, Telekom discontinued the ClickandBuy payment service. As a result, MyWallet was hardly usable anyway.
Use MyWallet: NFC, app and Co.
MyWallet is a Telekom payment service. Cashless payment not only saves you a lot of time and change when shopping, but is also considered safe.
- To use MyWallet, you need an NFC SIM, an NFC-enabled smartphone and the MyWallet app. Only the newer models from LG (Nexus4 and 5), Samsung and Sony currently have an NFC chip. Alternatively, you can also purchase an NFC sticker.
- You also need the "MyWallet Card" - a MasterCard that you can top up with credit.
- A Telekom mobile phone contract with mobile data usage is a prerequisite for using MyWallet. If you already have a mobile phone contract with Telekom and your smartphone is NFC-enabled, you can request a free NFC SIM at 0800 330 2202 free of charge.
- If you do not have a suitable contract or smartphone, you can request the MyWallet Card and stickers on this Deutsche Telekom website.
- If you have an app, card and SIM or sticker together, you can get started. If you hold the app at the payment terminal for a few seconds the next time you buy, the purchase process will be completed. There are currently around 1.6 million of these payment terminals with MasterCard PayPass.
