N-Roms - legal or illegal?
On N-Roms.de you will find numerous Nintendo games for free download. You can find out in our article whether this is legal or what penalties you have to fear.
Update: Nintendo blocks N-Roms
Since August this year, N-Roms.de can no longer be reached. The page can also no longer be found via Google. Nintendo is to blame:
- The many Rome websites have always been a thorn in the side of the game manufacturer. After all, the company lost a lot of money from the pirated copies.
- Therefore, Nintendo took the initiative in the middle of the year and ensured that some of the largest German Rome websites were shut down. Among them were N-Roms.de and SuperROMWorld.
Download classic games from N-Roms - legal or illegal?
Whether Gameboy, SNES or N64 - for Nintendo fans, N-Roms.de seems to be a real gaming paradise. Here you can get almost all games from previous Nintendo consoles than Roms.
- You can play these Roms with the corresponding emulators on the PC or smartphone and thus start the games without the corresponding console.
- However, unlicensed copies of games like Rome's are illegal. Only the manufacturer of the games can decide whether he wants to offer the games for other consoles or not.
- Even if you own the original game and console, you have no right to download the illegal copy from the Internet.
- For downloads, you therefore face warnings or lawsuits from the rights holder. However, such cases are not yet known about N-Roms.de.
