Remove Nationzoom - Here's how
You should remove "Nationzoom" from your computer immediately: the program is not a virus, but it slows down your browser and often redirects to websites infected with viruses. We show you how to proceed to delete the adware.
Important: Please follow all of the steps below! This is the only way to get rid of "Nation Zoom" completely.
Step 1: Remove Nationzoom in the Control Panel
- The adware is usually installed subconsciously via free or shareware. In some cases, "Nationzoom" adds other unwanted programs that you have to delete separately.
- The first thing to do is to remove "Nationzoom" from your system. This is done via the control panel. You can find detailed instructions for different versions of Windows in this practical tip.
- Look for the entries "Nation Zoom", "Wsys Control", "Extended Protection", "eSave Security Control" and "Desk 365". Remove all programs that you can find with this name.
- To be on the safe side, also remove any programs that are new to you and that have been added recently. You can sort the list of programs by installation date. If you know exactly when you got the "virus" on your computer, remove the programs on that date.
- If you cannot find any of the entries mentioned, install the CCleaner. You can also use this software to uninstall programs. Read here how the tool works.
Step 2: Clean Nationzoom malware browser
In order for both add-ons, search engine and homepage to be reset, you should reset your browser to the default settings. How this works can be found in the practical tip for the respective browser:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Internet Explorer
Step 3: delete remains of Nationzoom
If you have freed your browser from the adware, the last remains must also be removed. To do this, run a scan with your already installed anti-virus program and use the following two free tools.
- AdwCleaner: The AdwCleaner checks your system again for unwanted adware and removes it.
- Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: After a scan with this tool, the last files belonging to Nationzoom are also removed.
Step 4: clean up browser shortcuts
Now you should definitely check the links of your browser. Unwanted remnants of the adware can also be found here.
- To do this, click on the shortcuts of your browser on the right (also in the task bar) and select "Properties".
- In the "Link" tab, click in the "Target" field. There should be nothing behind "" C: \ ..... \ Mozilla Firefox \ firefox.exe ". Delete any entries and confirm with" Apply ".
- Repeat these steps with all browser shortcuts also in the task bar.
