Clean the power supply unit - you should note that
If you want to clean your computer power supply, there are a few things to consider. We give you tips so that nothing goes wrong.
How to clean a PC power supply properly
- If your PSU is buzzing, it may indicate a serious problem that cleaning cannot solve.
- If you need a new power supply, another practical tip will help you with the purchase.
- If your PC runs too hot or is too loud, the cause can also be the fan. This can often be switched faster (more effectively) or slower (quieter) using software. By the way, you can also clean fans much easier than a power supply.
- If the power supply unit needs to be cleaned, first disconnect it from the power supply and open the PC housing.
- With a cotton swab, a toothpick or a small brush, you can first try to clean the fan of the power supply directly.
- If you can't get close enough, remove the power supply. We show you in detail how this works in the picture gallery below.
- You can also vacuum the removed power supply with the help of a vacuum cleaner.
- Finally, you have to reinstall the cleaned power supply.
