New HD channels in 2013

Many new HD channels will start in 2013, but there is currently no single free TV channel among them. The pay-TV provider Sky has already launched three new channels by May 2013, nine more are to follow this year, and more are still being planned. The following restarts can be received via cable as well as via satellite and IPTV.
Free TV: expected but not planned
The launch of these two channels in HD seems possible this year, but it is uncertain whether this will really happen this year.
- Sat.1 Gold HD
- ProSieben MAXX HD
Pay TV: Syk channels that started up to May 2013
These three channels were also launched in HD in Germany at the beginning of 2013, but can only be received via a Sky subscription:
- E! Entertainment HD (Everything about Hollywood)
- 13th Street HD (action series and films)
- SyFy HD (films and series from the fantasy, mystery, science fiction and horro genre)
Pay TV: Sky channels starting in summer 2013
From summer 2013 you will receive these channels either via your Sky subscription or via Telekom Entertain. Sky may also launch a few more channels this year.
- Sky Bundesliga HD
- Sky Sport News HD, Sky Sport HD1, Sky Sport HD2, Sky Sport HD Extra
- Sky Cinema HD, Sky Action HD, Sky Hits HD, Sky Atlantic HD
Pay TV: planned for 2013
These stations are planned for 2013, but no start dates have been announced yet.
- Boomerang HD (cartoon series)
- Sony Entertainment Television (US series and films and German TV events)
