New Assassin's Creed Syndicate launched: release, trailer and gameplay
Ubisoft has announced the new Assassin's Creed Syndicate in an annual tradition. Already in October there are two playable characters in the London Industrial Revolution. You can see this and more information in the gameplay preview.
Experience the industrial revolution with Assassin's Creed Syndicate
The struggle of assassins and Templars runs through time and does not stop at London's industrial revolution. This is where Assassin's Creed Syndicate, the ninth major part of Ubisoft's successful open world series, will be released on October 23. Already last year - at that time still under the name Victory - the first pictures and information got to the public. Ubisoft has now officially announced the action adventure with a teaser event.
Assassins in a double pack
According to the English cliché, London's assassin revolution begins in a pub, the Seven Bells. Here you can get to know Syndicate's two protagonists: the twins Evie and Jacob Frye. This allows you to choose between two characters for the first time and at the same time you experience a protagonist in the main series of Assassin's Creed for the first time. And there are also strong women on the other side, such as Bloody Nora, who leads a Templar gang and already clashes with her siblings in the gameplay trailer.
Not much is known about the differences between Jacob and Evie, but their character should complement the typical English personality. While Jacob is the epitome of the revolutionary working class and a charistatic street thug, Evie is said to be much more understated, relying on her intellect and sneaking skills. Little has been shown, especially for Evie. More information about her should follow in the coming months.
The world of Assassin's Creed Syndicate
While industry brings wealth to factory owners with efficient machinery and better logistics, the working class did not benefit much from the industrial revolution in the late 19th century. This imbalance also disturbs the siblings Jacob and Evie Frye, who want to fight not only against Templar gangs but also for more social justice on behalf of the Assassins.
Evie and Jacob take on local gangs in different parts of London, taking the Templars step by step from the city with their own syndicate. They meet historical figures such as the biologist Charles Darwin and the author Charles Dickens.
Industrial gameplay revolution: new tool for assassins
In addition to the story, the gameplay also evolves. The combat system is to become more agile and faster, and iconic climbing is accelerated with the invention of the rope thrower. Otherwise you will notice the technological progress at every nook and corner. Horse carriages are everywhere in the city, which you can steal and use. Trains and the famous London Underground will also be available as a means of transportation.
Assassins in London now also have numerous options to use their surroundings to their advantage and, for example, to kill opponents in the classic way with falling objects. In general, the sneaking system should also become more agile, so that you have to spend less time hiding behind objects. Instead, you will actively use your tools and your environment to avoid attracting attention or escaping in an emergency.
An essential difference from the most recent parts of the series: Assassin's Creed Syndicate will again do without multiplayer mode because the developers want to concentrate entirely on the solo experience and the story.
