Nexus 4 hangs in Bootloop - you can do that
If your Nexus 4 is caught in a boot loop, you can usually correct the error using the recovery mode. In this practical tip, we will show you how to do this.
Bootloop on the Nexus 4: Recovery Mode helps
Even if your cell phone no longer boots, you should be able to call up Recovery Mode. If the phone turns itself off in this mode, the problem is probably due to a defective power button. Check whether the switch wobbles and have the cell phone repaired at a workshop or make your warranty claims. If you can rule out the power button as the cause, try the following:
- Start your Nexus in recovery mode: press and hold the volume down, volume up, and power button at the same time until the boot loader options appear. Use the volume buttons to select "Recovery Mode" and confirm using the power button.
- First delete the cache of your smartphone: Select "Wipe dalvik-cache" and confirm with the power button. Then select the "Mounts & Storage" option and select "Wipe / cache". Then restart your Nexus.
- If this does not help, start the recovery mode again and select "Backup & Restore"> "Backup" to back up your data on the SD card first.
- Now reset your Nexus: In Recovery Mode select "Mounts & Storage". Here you execute "Wipe / data" and "Wipe / cache". After a restart everything should work again.
- If the reset does not help either, the internal memory is probably defective. In this case, only a repair in a smartphone workshop or replacement under the warranty will help.
