Nexus 4 reset - how it works
If you experience serious problems on your Nexus 4, you can reset the smartphone to the factory settings. We'll show you how it's done.
Perform a hard reset on the Nexus 4
- Turn off the Nexus 4 completely and hold the power and volume down buttons.
- When the Android logo appears on the display, you can release the buttons.
- Press the volume down button twice in the menu and confirm your selection with the power button.
- See the red exclamation mark, confirm with the power button and then the volume up button.
- Select the "Wipe data / Factory reset" option and confirm with the power button.
- The "Yes - delete all user data" option resets the Nexus 4 to the factory settings. Note: All your personal data will be lost.
