Nexus 5: display broken - what to do?

Replace broken display on the Nexus 5
The following steps are carried out at your own risk. You should only follow these instructions if you have sufficient background knowledge and experience.
- Switch off your device first.
- Use a tool such as a plastic opener or pick to remove the back of your Nexus 5.
- Unscrew the mainboard safety plate in the upper area of the device with a Phillips screwdriver. You have to remove a total of six screws.
- Use a spudger to carefully detach the battery cable and daughterboard ribbon cable.
- Use a plastic opener to remove the battery from the notch at the bottom. Be as careful as possible.
- Use the plastic opener to carefully pry out the vibration motor.
- Carefully remove the antenna cables to the right and left of the mainboard and daughterboard. Also disconnect the ribbon cable to the screen located on the daughterboard, as well as the camera cable and the ribbon cable next to the headphone jack.
- Use the spudger to remove the mainboard from the device. Carefully - preferably using tweezers - remove the camera, ear speaker, headphone jack and proximity sensor.
- Take the new front cover at hand and install the components you just removed in reverse order on the new front.
