Nexus 7 is no longer working - you can do that
If your Nexus 7 no longer comes on, a software problem can be the cause. However, the hardware may also be defective. Often, a few simple steps will help get your Nexus going again.
Nexus 7 no longer works: battery is deeply discharged
First, you should make sure that your Nexus 7 is not over-discharged.
- Connect the device to the charger for at least one hour. Use the original charging cable for this.
- Disconnect the cable from the device and reconnect it within ten seconds.
- Now press and hold the on / off button for 10 to 15 seconds to switch on the device.
Nexus 7 no longer works: Charge tablet on PC
Next, try charging your tablet on the PC.
- Connect the device with the USB cable to the switched on PC.
- After 15 minutes, disconnect the cable from the Nexus and reconnect it within 10 seconds.
- Try turning on the device by pressing and holding the power button for 10 to 15 seconds.
Nexus 7 no longer works: reset device
If charging the tablet does not have the desired effect, you should restore it.
- Connect your device to the charging cable and press and hold the volume down and power buttons for at least 10 seconds until an Android robot appears.
- Press the volume down key to navigate to the Power Off option.
- Select the option with the on / off button.
- As soon as the device is switched off, disconnect the charger and reconnect it immediately.
- When the charging icon appears on the screen, turn on the device.
Nexus 7 no longer works: Have the device repaired
If none of the options mentioned help, there is a hardware defect - for example, caused by a fall, impact, or by water or other liquids.
