Nexus keeps restarting - what to do?
If your Nexus smartphone keeps restarting, there can be several reasons. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Nexus keeps restarting - that helps
Note: On the Google Nexus 5, the power button is stuck on some devices. This can cause the boat to sleep. Just press the button a few times. If this does not help, proceed as follows:
- First, remove the battery from your Nexus and then reinsert it. If this is not possible, carry out a soft reset. To do this, press and hold the power button for a few seconds. If that doesn't work, press and hold one of the volume buttons at the same time.
- If that doesn't help either, a hard reset is necessary. This will delete all files on your Nexus. Start the recovery mode on your smartphone or tablet and select the option "wipe data / factory reset".
- If you have rooted your Nexus you should proceed differently. The procedure is much more difficult. The PocketPC.ch forum provides instructions.
Nexus hangs in the boat loop - not an isolated case
- If the problem cannot be solved, the internal memory is defective in many cases. An ongoing boot loop often speaks for a hardware defect.
- If the Nexus is still in the warranty period, you can request a repair or replacement from the manufacturer. Especially without a root, such a hardware error is difficult to cause yourself.
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to reduce battery consumption with Nexus devices.
