Nintendo 3DS / 2DS: Show friend code - how it works
Your Nintendo 3DS / 2DS's friend code allows you to connect, chat, and compete with other players. In this practical tip, we will show you how to find out your own friend code and add new friends.
Nintendo 3DS / 2DS: Show your own friend code - how it works
The friend code consists of a total of 12 numbers and is a unique code that is only assigned to your Nintendo 3DS / 2DS. Share this with your friends to add them to your friends list. You can then connect with the other players and exchange messages.
- To find out your friend code, first start your Nintendo 3DS and go to the main menu.
- In the top bar, tap on the square orange smiley symbol with the inscription "Friends list".
- Switch to your personal friends card with a swipe to the right. On the top screen you will now find your individual friend code at the bottom right.
Nintendo 3DS / 2DS: add contacts via friend code - how it works
If you've received another player's friend code, you can add it to your contact list. This also works in the friend list with the button "register friend". There you have two options:
- Local: Select this option if your contact with his Nintendo 3DS system is currently in the same place as you. On both systems, tap Local at the same time, and then tap the friend card to register the other contact.
- Internet: Select this if your friend's Nintendo 3DS system is not in the same place as you. For this to work, Nintendo 3DS systems must be connected to the Internet. Then each user enters the friend code of the other in his system. As soon as you have registered each other, your friend's friend card will be displayed.
