Nintendo 3DS: display broken - what to do?
In this practical tip, we explain what you can do if the display of your Nintendo 3DS is broken.
Nintendo 3DS: Warranty provides limited protection for defective displays
Unfortunately, a broken display - for example due to a fall or special temperature fluctuations - is not covered by the twelve-month manufacturer's warranty that you have on your Nintendo 3DS.
- However, you can also repair the device at Nintendo for a fee. According to the Nintendo repair price list, a repair costs between 54 and 107 euros. Nintendo also charges EUR 3.50 for the return.
- Other companies on the Internet have also specialized in such cases and may offer cheaper repairs.
- You can find out exactly how to send a repair to Nintendo in the next section.
Send the Nintendo 3DS in for repair
- Nintendo advises that if you send in a Nintendo 3DS, you should turn off the wireless function of the device. Also turn off the device.
- Then fill out the service order.
- You should provide a description of the error at this point and, if necessary, enclose the proof of purchase. This is especially important if you still have a guarantee on the product. With a little luck, your specific damage may be classified as a warranty claim.
- When you have completed the form, click on "Print form" to print out the form. It is also best to make a copy of the application for your records.
- If possible, pack the Nintendo 3DS in the original packaging. The case should be stable and padded.
- Send the best insured package to the following address: LetMeRepair, Nintendo Service Center, Im Weidig 3, D-63785 Obernburg.
