Nintendo eShop down - you can do that
If the Nintendo eShop is down, you should first check whether it is due to your device or whether maintenance work is being carried out. We'll tell you how it works and what you can do.
Nintendo eShop - maintenance or network errors?
If you can't reach Nintendo eShop, there can be several reasons. Therefore, first investigate the cause.
- First, you should check whether your Wii U, Switch or 3DS is connected to the internet. If necessary, switch the device on and off.
- It can also be helpful to briefly disconnect the router from the power supply if your internet doesn't seem to be working.
- If the problem is not yours, you can check on the official maintenance page whether the shop is currently offline and for how long.
- In the event of acute or unscheduled failures, you can also use "Downdetector" to see whether other users have the same problem. In these cases, however, you can only wait until Nintendo has fixed the problem.
In the next practical tip, we will explain how you can top up your credit for the eShop.
