Open Nintendo Mini NES Classic for more games: Here's how
If you want to transfer more games to your Nintendo Mini NES Classic, all you need is the right software. We'll show you how it's done.
Step 1: Download software for the Nintendo Mini NES Classic
To install additional games on your Mini NES, you need the digitized ROMs. After a short Google search, you can find them on numerous websites. Note: Downloading copy-protected games is illegal. Further legal information can be found in the article on emulators for Android.
- Connect the micro USB cable to the rear of the Mini NES and connect the other end of the USB cable to your computer.
- Now download the hakchi2 software. The download starts automatically.
- Open the ZIP file and start hackchi2.exe. Change the storage location if necessary and confirm with "Extract".
- You can now start the tool via hackchi.exe.
Step 2: Load more games on the Nintendo Mini NES Classic
- Click on the "Add more games" button below and select a desired downloaded ROM file. These are always in the .NES format.
- To add a cover, simply click on the "Google" button on the right and select the desired image.
- Then click on the "Synchronize selected games with NES Mini" button and the process starts.
- Now carry out the five steps shown. Switch off the Mini NES, disconnect the USB connection and restore it.
- Hold down the reset button on the console and then switch on the Mini NES. Do not release the reset button until after about 5 seconds.
- If the power LED on the Mini NES has not come on, click the "Install driver" button in hackchi2.
- If the process was completed and the power LED on the Mini NES went out, the game was successfully transmitted.
