Nintendo Switch: All information about HDR support
While consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One support the HDR standard, the Nintendo Switch is currently very different. We show you what you need to know about HDR on the switch.
HDR on the Nintendo Switch - does it work?
- In theory, HDR is possible on the Nintendo Switch. This could give many games more colors, more details and more contrast.
- The display of the switch cannot support HDR due to the hardware. However, if the switch is located in the docking station and transmits the image to the television, HDR is possible in theory, but has not yet been installed in practice.
- It is rather questionable whether Nintendo HDR will retrofit the software in the future. The games would be significantly larger, so that the already scarce storage space would suffer further.
- If you don't have a 4K TV with HDR function, you wouldn't be able to benefit from HDR at all. Therefore, it is very unlikely that the switch will still be equipped with HDR. Maybe it will work with the successor.
In the next practical tip, we will explain what HDR 10 is and tell you whether the new TV standard is worth it.
