Nintendo Switch: change eShop region and country
In this article, we explain how you can change the region of your Nintendo Switch's eShop.
Change eShop region - Here's how
Nintendo's new console no longer has a region lock. This means that you can play Nintendo Switch games from all regions on any Nintendo Switch. In the Nintendo eShop, you can therefore safely access titles that only appear abroad. To do this, you have to switch to the eShop of the respective country. We will now explain how this works:
- In order to visit another country's eShop with your Nintendo Switch, you need an account that is connected to the respective country.
- For example, if you want to access the North American eShop with a German Nintendo Switch, you first need to create a new Nintendo Account. To do this, navigate to this page.
- Then fill out all the information as you wish. It is only important that you select the region in the country / region whose eShop you want to access. In our example, this would be the United States.
- Once you have completed the account creation, all you have to do is connect your new Nintendo Account to your Nintendo Switch.
- Click "System Preferences" and navigate to "Users". Then click on "Add new user" and enter the data of your newly created Nintendo account.
- If you would now like to visit the Nintendo eShop, you will first be asked which user you want to start the application with. If you click on the user whose account is connected to the "United States" region, the corresponding eShop will be opened.
- Of course, this method also works with any other region, such as Japan or France.
