Nintendo Switch: Use Xbox Controller - Here's how
If you want to use the controller of your Xbox on your Nintendo Switch, this is only possible with additional hardware. We'll show you what you need and how to set up the connection.
Connect the Xbox controller to the Nintendo Switch
- In order to play on the TV with the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo offers the Pro controller. However, you can also use almost any other controller on the switch.
- You need the Mayflash MAGIC-NS Wireless Controller Adapter for around 24 euros. The USB stick is simply connected to the outside of the switch.
- The adapter supports the popular console controllers of Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3. Many other PC controllers are also supported.
- Only the Xbox One S, PS4, PS3 and Wii U Pro controllers work wirelessly.
Nintendo Switch: set up Xbox controller
- Simply plug the adapter into the Nintendo Switch and connect the controller to the adapter using a USB cable. The controller is recognized straight away. If the controller also works wirelessly, you can remove the cable directly.
- In the "Settings" of the switch you can test the various buttons and their assignment under "Controller and sensors".
- If you hold down the "Start" and "A" buttons for three seconds, the button assignment is exchanged. If you hold down "Start" and "Menu" at the same time, a screenshot will be taken.
