Nintendo Wii U: The 5 best games in the eShop
The Nintendo Wii U eShop offers some insider tips. In our practical tip, we show you the five best games that you should definitely download from the eShop.
NES Remix: Classic games in the remix
At first glance, NES Remix may look like a game collection of old video game classics, but there is much more behind the collection.
- NES Remix includes timeless classic games like Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong or The Legend of Zelda, which experience a remix with new elements. In over 200 entertaining levels, you have to face various challenges in order to collect stars. Due to the division into individual levels, NES Remix is particularly interesting for players who have not come into contact with the classics and can get to know them step by step.
- If you have collected enough stars, so-called remix levels will be unlocked. For example, Super Mario Bros. becomes an endless runner. Or you can skate over ice like you've never seen it in the original.
- If you don't have enough after NES Remix, you can grab the successor NES Remix 2 with more games and challenges.
Wii Sports Club: The classic now in HD and online
Wii Sports made for fun party evenings on the Wii. With Wii Sports Club, the title is now returning to the Wii U in HD.
- As in the original, Wii Sports Club includes the five sports tennis, bowling, golf, boxing and baseball. The game principle was adapted to the Wii Motion Plus technology and the GamePad. For example, in Golf you place the GamePad on the ground in front of you and hit the ball from there with the Wii remote control.
- In contrast to the original, Wii Sports Club offers an online mode for every sport in which you can measure yourself against other players or registered friends. The highlight are the rankings, in which you can measure yourself against other players in specific leagues from country to state and compare your performance.
- Wii Sports Club can initially be downloaded and tested free of charge. After the trial period has expired, you can buy daily licenses, which are available for 1.99 euros and allow you to play all five sports for 24 hours. If you want to unlock a sport permanently, it costs 9.99 euros each.
Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party - The totally crazy party fun
With the Wii, party games and mini-game collections peaked, but they were mostly similar. Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party takes the genre into a completely different league thanks to totally crazy ideas.
- In Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party, the actual game does not take place on the TV, but directly in the living room - the GamePad makes it possible. After specifying the number of players and available controllers, the game selects suitable mini-games. The more friends you are, the more fun the games are. Because all games are played at least in pairs.
- The mini-games that take place on it range from wood saws to borers to tightly danced waltzes. For wood saws, two players have to kneel on the ground and move the Wii remote controls towards each other in order to cut down a tree. For the drill, on the other hand, the players put together, hold one of the controllers in their center and now have to turn in a circle as quickly as possible. The waltz, on the other hand, demands rhythm and tact.
- Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party is not a classic video game, but that's what makes it so exciting. Find enough teammates, have enough space in the living room and try something new if you give Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party a chance.
Trine 2: Director's Cut: wonderful adventure fun
Trine 2: Director's Cut may already be known to you from other platforms, but is also an insider tip in the Wii U eShop as well as elsewhere.
- Trine 2: Director's Cut takes you into a beautiful and colorful fantasy world, where you go in search of the magical and eponymous artifact Trine. You will encounter opponents, but you will also have to solve the various puzzles in order to advance in the game.
- The highlight is that you have three characters to choose from, which you have to switch between constantly. Use your special skills to solve the puzzles and defeat enemies. This is a powerful knight with a shield and sword, a magician helpless in battle, who masters useful magic tricks for this and, last but not least, the athletic thief who is unerringly with her bow like no other.
- Trine 2: Director's Cut can also be played locally or online with up to three players. Each player then takes over one of the characters, so the right arrangement is essential to progress in the game.
Mighty Switch Force! 2: Puzzle fun for in between
Mighty Switch Force! At first glance, 2 looks like a classic platform game, but thanks to its crisp puzzle it is much more of a puzzle game.
- In every level of Mighty Switch Force! 2 it is important to extinguish the burning fire and free the so-called hooligan sisters. To do this, you have to jump from platform to platform, which changes at the push of a button. But be careful: if you stand still for a moment, the platform disappears at the push of a button to make room for another elsewhere. Jump'n'run experience and skillful coordination are required.
- The levels are short, but they have it all. It usually takes dozens of tries to successfully complete the levels. Mighty Switch Force! 2 is therefore always suitable for short game sessions in between, in which you can slowly continue to work.
