Nioh: That's the Kodama
You must have stumbled across the little forest spirits called Kodama in Nioh. In our article we show you what these beings can do and how you can best find them.
The Kodama in Nioh: function and benefits
You can find forest spirits in all 6 regions of Nioh. They are peaceful living creatures that help you.
- The Kodama are very helpful because they use their strength to improve the shrines of the respective region.
- Depending on which Kodama you have found, it expresses a blessing.
- There are different Kodama, which is why many different blessings are possible. You can tell which Kodama it is by the color and type of its headgear.
- The blessings can be very helpful: The "healer blessing", for example, increases your elixir drop rate.
- Only one blessing can be activated at a time. You also have to pay some gold to activate it.
- You will receive another elixir for every 5 Kodama, which will automatically fill up at the shrine. The elixir only applies to the region in which you are currently located. If you enter a new section, you have to search for new forest spirits.
- If you miss a Kodama in a mission, you can play it again and go on a search again, but it is advisable to find as many of the small ghosts as possible the first time.
Nioh: How to find the Kodama
Sometimes the little creatures are very well hidden. But there are a few tips that can help you in your search.
- You can find a total of 150 Kodama in the world of Nioh. Some of them are near the shrines, but many are scattered throughout the levels.
- Generally, you can find a certain number of lost Kodama during each main mission.
- The forest spirits can be found especially in hidden niches, behind boxes, in winding houses or on roofs. The bright green skin color of the Kodama often reveals its location.
- You can also recognize the creatures by their headgear, which usually consists of a rice bowl or tea bowl. If you fight near them, the forest spirits retreat into them.
- Your equipment can also have the Kodama Sense effect, which shows the forest spirits as a green dot on your compass.
