Nokia Lumia 800 is no longer working - you can do that
Sometimes the Nokia Lumia 800 suddenly stops working. This is mostly due to a software error or the battery. We show you what you can do if the screen of your Nokia Lumia 800 stays black.
Nokia Lumia 800 does not work: deeply discharged battery
If your Lumia smartphone is not used for a long time, there is a risk of deep discharge. The battery discharges beyond a critical point. The screen will then no longer come on.
- If the battery of your smartphone is deeply discharged, it takes a while for the Lumia to react to the charging process.
- Connect your Lumia 800 to the charging cable and wait half an hour. Then try to switch on the device.
Force restart the Lumia 800
Your Lumia may be on but not responding and only showing a black screen. You should try to force a restart, i.e. carry out a so-called soft reset. No data is lost with the soft reset, but you may have to reset the time.
- Simultaneously press and hold the volume down button and the power button for about 10 seconds.
- Release the two buttons. The cell phone should now restart.
Hard reset on the Nokia Lumia 800
If your smartphone still does not respond, you should try a hard reset. All data is lost, the cell phone is reset to the factory settings. You can restore most of the data from a backup.
- Disconnect your Lumia from the charger.
- Press and hold the power button, the volume down button and the camera button at the same time until the device vibrates briefly after about ten seconds.
- Now release the on / off button and keep pressing the volume down button and the camera button until your Lumia starts the hard reset after about five seconds.
- Wait for the phone to reset and then log in with your Windows account to restore your data.
Lumia 800 still won't start: warranty or repair
- If you still have a guarantee, you can send in your Lumia and receive a new device. We'll show you how to find out if your device is still under warranty.
- If the guarantee has expired, you can have your cell phone repaired at a smartphone workshop.
