- With the Compare extension, comparing files is child's play, because the small plug-in does the chore for you.
- Use the 32 bit version of the programmer tool and click on Extensions >> Plugin Manager >> Show Plugin Manager in the menu bar.
- Then the available plugins, including Compare, are displayed.
- After installing Compare, restart Notepad ++. If you click "Extensions" again, the plugin will be displayed.
Compare for the 64 bit version of Notepad ++
The Notepad ++ program has also been available in the 64-bit version for some time.
- You will not find the practical Plugin Manager in the version, however. Therefore, you must first download the 64 bit version of Compare manually.
- After you have extracted the ZIP file, open the "Import" sub-item in the "Settings" menu and add Compare.
- If you want to compare two files in the future, let Compare do the work. The practical plugin can be found under the menu item "Extension".
