The NSIS error can occur when installing various programs. This practical tip shows you how to fix the error.
Fix NSIS error
The NSIS error can appear when installing many programs that were created with the Nullsoft Scriptable Install System. However, the cause of the error is not so easy to determine. So follow the steps below.
- A possible cause of the NSIS error can be an incorrect download. In most cases, although many browsers automatically delete an incomplete download, the error can still be produced.
- Therefore, download the file again. If that doesn't fix the problem, try a different source or network. Downloading from another device could also help. Then simply transfer the file with a USB stick.
- Some users report that the Nvidia firewall can lead to this error. Therefore, briefly deactivate or uninstall the firewall.
- To do this, simply switch to the control panel, click on the item "Uninstall software / programs" and uninstall the Nvidia firewall.
- For some users, the error only occurs under certain operating systems. For example, the normal Windows 7/8 versions may experience an NSIS error, but not the "Enterprise" versions. You can download a trial version of the Windows 8 Enterprise Edition from our download portal.
- A faulty hardware component can also be the cause of the NSIS error. In principle, however, every piece of hardware is a potential source of error.
- Experienced users can independently check the hardware with tools such as MemTest or CHKDSK. Laypeople can also have the computer measured by a computer specialist.
