G-Sync: switch on vertical synchronization
If you have an Nvidia graphics card (GTX 650 Ti or higher) and a monitor that is compatible with G-Sync, you can set up G-Sync. Find out which monitors are compatible with G-Sync on the Nvidia homepage. If you don't know which graphics card you have, you can easily find out.
- First you have to activate G-Sync.
- To do this, right-click on an empty space on the desktop and select "NVIDIA Control Panel".
- Click on the "Set up G-Sync" directory in the menu on the left.
- Place a checkmark next to "Activate G-SYNC" and "Activate G-SYNC for window and full-screen mode" (see Figure 1). The "Window and full screen mode" function allows you to play in windowed mode. So you can easily switch to other programs via "Alt + Tab".
- It often happens that your monitor requires more FPS (German: frames per second) than your graphics card can deliver. Thus, tearing can occur and the picture jerky.
- To prevent this error, select the "Manage 3D Settings" tab on the left. Scroll down to the bottom of the selection window and switch the "vertical synchronization" function to "On" (see figure 2).
