NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV: Set up Plex Media Server
Since the latest update, you have been able to use the Plex Media Server on your NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV. This practical tip shows you how to set up the media server.
Use Plex Media Server on NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV
- First, check whether an update is available for your device. To do this, navigate to "Info"> "Update system". If an update is available, install it.
- You will then need an account with Plex. You can do this either directly on the Shield TV by searching for "Plex" or on the official homepage on the PC.
- After you have created the account, open the Plex app on the Shield TV and select "Login". Then enter your data.
- In the first step, Plex reports that you have a media server on the device. Check "Activate Plex Media Server" here and confirm with "Next".
- You can skip the next step with "Next" if you do not want to deactivate the local media libraries.
- In order for Plex to be able to access the files, the next step is to allow access.
- You will then receive a message that the setup was successfully completed. With a click on "Next" the media libraries are now set up. This process can take several minutes.
