Nvidia: update errors - you can do that
Sometimes errors occur during an Nvidia update. In this practical tip we show you what you can do about it.
Nvidia: update errors - you can do that
If you can no longer automatically install the updates, you have to do this manually:
- First open the Nvidia website. Here you can either select your product or let the site perform an automatic hardware scan.
- If you choose your product yourself, pay attention to the language and the Windows version. Everything should be right here.
- Now all you have to do is press "Search" and the page shows you the latest drivers for your graphics card.
- All you have to do is run the downloaded .exe. And your drivers should be up to date again.
Carry out updates manually - further options
The variant described above is not the only one that you can use. Your operating system also has its own driver wizard, which helps you to update the driver:
- First go to your system settings and click on the device manager. On Windows 10, you can also just ask Cortana to search for it. Just enter the search term in the "Ask me something" field.
- Now search for your graphics card in the device manager. Right-click to open the next menu from which you select "Update driver software ...".
- You can now decide whether you want to search for drivers either on your computer or on the Internet. If you want to search for it on your computer, you have to specify the drivers in the next step.
- Nvidia should already have this in a folder. You can usually find this under C: \ NVIDIA \ DisplayDriver \ Version number \. Alternatively, the folder is on the hard drive that you specified during installation.
- In the next step, make sure to also include the subfolders.
- The driver wizard will then guide you step by step through the further installation.
