- To do this, call the o2 customer service and request a change of numbers.
- You can usually choose between different numbers here.
- As soon as o2 has initiated everything, you will receive a confirmation via SMS. Your new number is now active.
Insider tip: change the number at o2 free of charge
If you don't want to pay money to change the number, you have to do something tricky. You can apply for a new number using a free SIM card and then import it into your existing contract:
- Open this website from o2 and book the free loop contract.
- After a few days you will receive a SIM card and your contract with a new number by post. Alternatively, you can also purchase the loop free ticket in an o2 shop.
- Then log in to o2-online with your old contract data and click on "My o2".
- Scroll down a bit and under "Additional services" select the option "Take phone number with you".
- Then click on the "Go to exchange form" button and enter your contract details there.
- Complete the process with "Send". After a few days you will receive a confirmation of the change of number by SMS or post.
So that your new number is not lost, you should renew your contract in good time.
