OCR with Adobe Reader: Convert PDF to text
The so-called OCR function converts PDF into text. You can easily do this in Adobe Reader, as this practical tip shows you.
Adobe Reader: OCR - this is how the conversion from PDF to text works
- Start the Adobe Reader as usual.
- Then click on "File"> "Open" at the top of the program and select the relevant document.
- To expand the tool menu on the right, click on the arrow pointing to the left, or alternatively on "Tools".
- Select the "Edit PDF file" option there and wait for the process to finish.
- To convert the PDf file into a text document, choose File> Save As and enter a name for the document. Under "File type" you can choose any file extension, preferably ".txt" for text files.
- After you click "Save", the PDF file will be converted to text.
