Office 2010: Show and hide the menu bar
To save space in the Office 2010 programs, you can easily show and hide the top menu bar. We show you how it works.
How to show and hide the ribbon in Office 2010
There are two very simple methods for showing and hiding the ribbon:
- By mouse: Double click on one of the menu items such as "Start" or "View". The ribbon is then folded in. Repeat the double click, bring back the complete menu.
- Using the keyboard: Press the key combination [Ctrl] + [F1] in the respective office program.
- Even if the menu is hidden, you can continue to use all the options: Simply click on one of the menu items and the band will be displayed until you click on another free area.
- Tip: In some of the Office programs there is also a full-screen mode with which you can use the entire screen area. You can find this under different names in the "View" menu - in Word, for example, as "full-screen reading mode" or in Excel as "full screen".
In the menu bar of Office 2010 you will also find the so-called "developer tools" - provided you have activated them via the settings. Our practical tip gives you instructions.
