Office 2013: Disable hardware acceleration
You should deactivate hardware acceleration under Microsoft Office if the performance of your computer, for example the graphics card, is not as high. If the font of your documents looks blurry, this could be an indication of this.
Disable hardware acceleration under MS Office
- First go to the "File" tab.
- Then select the "Options" and then "Advanced".
- Go to the "Display" section under "Advanced" and deactivate the Hardware graphics acceleration option.
Notes on disabling Office hardware acceleration
It doesn't matter in which of the various Office programs you carry out the steps described above. If you deactivate hardware acceleration under Word, for example, it also works in Excel or PowerPoint. The process works equally well in Office 2010 and Office 2013.
If Word crashes regularly, we will show you how to get MS Office Word crashes under control.
