How to install Service Pack 1 for Office 2013
There are two ways to install Service Pack 1 for Office 2013:
- Installation via Windows update
- Installation with the download package from the Microsoft website.
Service Pack 1: Installation via Windows update
If you have not activated the automatic Windows update, proceed as follows to start the download and installation:
- Click Start - Control Panel - Windows Update
- Click the "Check for updates" link.
- After a successful search, you will see the update called "Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB 2850036) 64-Bit Edition". Mark the update via the checkbox and click on "Install updates". The update is now downloaded and installed.
Service Pack 1: Installation via download package
If you would like to install Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office 2013 on multiple computers, we recommend installing using the download package. This means that you only download the file once and can reuse it as often as you like. To install the update, proceed as follows:
- Download the service pack from the Microsoft Download Center.
- Click on the downloaded file to install the ServicePack. You need admin rights for the installation. Read here how you can permanently get administrator rights.
- Accept the license conditions and confirm the installation by clicking "Next".
- The installation is completed after a few minutes. Then restart your PC.
