Office: Excel, Word and Co. - which version do I have?
Especially if you need help with an Office product, it is good to know which version of Office is running on your PC. We'll show you how to find out.
Which version of Office do I have? - The user interface tells you
The easiest way to identify the version of Office installed on your computer is the user interface, which is different in each edition.
- Open any office program and compare the user interface on your computer with our screenshots in the picture gallery. We used Word as an example. Basically, the other products look the same.
- If your user interface is not shown on our screenshots, you can find all versions of Office on this Microsoft support page.
Learn more about your office product
If you need more information about your Office package, such as the bit version installed, you have to do the following in the open program:
- In Office 2013 and Office 2016, click on "File" in the top right, then on "Account". You will now see information about your Microsoft account and your Office product. If this information is not sufficient, you can get more information by clicking on "About Word". You will also find the bit version of your Office suite there. These steps are described again in the screenshots in the image gallery.
- In Office 2010, first click on "File", then on "Help". The right side of the screen shows you information about your Office product.
