Windows notebook: Deactivate onboard graphics card
In most cases, you don't need to disable the onboard graphics card. Windows usually automatically activates the dedicated hardware as soon as the onboard graphics card is no longer sufficient. If you also want to use your built-in card in desktop mode, you have to deactivate the device manually:
- Press the [Windows] and [R] keys simultaneously so that the "Execute" command opens.
- Type in the command "devmgmt.msc" and click "OK". Then the device manager starts.
- In the new window, open the "Graphics card" category and right-click on your onboard graphics card.
- Select the "Deactivate" option here and confirm your project.
