OneDrive: change location - how it works
In this guide, we show you how to change the storage location or folder specified in OneDrive. So you can set a new place for your cloud documents at will.
Windows 7, 8, 10: Change the location of OneDrive
Note: To change the location, you need to sign out of OneDrive, move the folder, and then sign in again. Your data remain on the computer.
- Start OneDrive and look for the corresponding icon in the lower right corner of the taskbar.
- Click on it with the right mouse button and select the "Properties".
- Go to the "Account" tab above and click the "Unlink OneDrive" button.
- Now open the path "C: \ Users" in Explorer and look for the OneDrive folder.
- Right-click to cut the folder and paste it back to the desired location.
- Restart OneDrive and log in to your account again. In the next step you can "change the storage location".
- Select the already moved OndDrive folder here and confirm with "Use this storage location".
- If you now follow the further steps, OneDrive will be set up in the new location.
