Onedrive vs. Google Drive: free storage
- Google Drive offers 15 GigaByte free storage, which is available for Gmail and the cloud together. So if you use Gmail intensively, there is less storage available on Google Drive and vice versa. If you need more storage, you can purchase 100 GigaBytes extra for $ 2 a month.
- Microsoft Onedrive also offers 15 GigaByte free storage. However, this can be expanded free of charge with small tricks: Those who refer friends receive an extra 500 MegaByte. The photo upload even brings 3 gigabytes. 100 gigabytes extra per month also cost 2 euros.
- Alternatively, Microsoft offers a subscription: For 7 euros a month, you get 1 TerraByte storage with OneDrive and Office 365.
- You can also purchase 1 terabyte of storage per month from Google Drive. At $ 10, the price is similar to Microsoft, but Office is not included. For this, Google Drive can be expanded to up to 30 TB ($ 300). 10 TB is for $ 100, 20 TB is $ 200.
Google Drive vs. OneDrive: software and apps
Both providers have developed apps for smartphones and a solution for Windows and Mac.
- In Windows 8 and Windows 10, OneDrive is integrated directly into the computer's file system. Software is available for Mac and older versions of Windows.
- Google Drive also offers versions for Windows and Mac.
- The OneDrive app is available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
- Google Drive, on the other hand, is only available for Android and iOS.
