OnePlus 3: change the battery - how it works
If the battery of your OnePlus 3 has run out, you can replace the battery relatively easily. We'll show you how to do it step by step.
Tool: Change battery from OnePlus 3
- You need special tools to open the OnePlus 3. The tool kit from Neuftech is comparatively cheap and contains all the important parts.
- If you already have the screwdrivers you need, you can be satisfied with a carpet knife and an old check card. Proper tool for cell phone repair is of course recommended.
Instructions: Change the battery of the OnePlus 3
- Switch the OnePlus 3 off completely and use, for example, a towel as a base so that the display does not get scratched.
- Now remove the SIM card and SIM slot using the SIM tool provided.
- At the bottom of the OnePlus 3 you will find two screws. Remove the screws with the appropriate screwdriver (Torx T2).
- Now take a thin metal tool to hand and place it in the center and very carefully on the left side of the OnePlus 3 between the display and the back cover.
- If you have created a gap, replace the metal tool with a plastic tool.
- Now you can carefully move the tool along the edge and gently push the display away. Tip: start on the right side, then drive down and up on the right side.
- Put the back cover aside and pry up the contact on the top right corner of the battery with a plastic tool.
- You can also pry up the two ribbon cables that run across the battery on both sides with a plastic tool. Before doing so, however, you need to loosen the screws that secure the metal cover over the two cables.
- The battery is attached to the top right with a small piece of black adhesive tape. Use tweezers to remove the tape, for example.
- There is a transparent tab on the right side of the battery. If you pull the tab, the battery will release after a while.
- Then you can simply install the new battery and bring all cables back into place.
- Before the display and back cover come together again, you can switch on the OnePlus 3 to check the battery. Then switch it off again.
- When closing, be careful not to apply too much pressure so that the display is not damaged.
- Finally, the two screws and the SIM slot are inserted.
