OnePlus One vs. OnePlus Two: The flagship is so good in comparison
With the OnePlus Two, the successor of the coveted smartphone OnePlus One is in the starting blocks. In our comparison, we compare both China phones and show what has changed in the new model.
The outer appearance: OnePlus One vs. OnePlus Two
The Chinese manufacturer already caused a sensation with the OnePlus One about a year ago: a smartphone with a special Android system, outstanding hardware and an affordable price. The OnePlus Two is supposed to connect right here, but the first differences are already visible on the outside:
- Display: At first glance, nothing has changed in the display. The OnePlus Two also uses 5.5 inches with Full HD resolution. According to the manufacturer, the screen should shine particularly brightly this time and reach a whopping 600 candelas per square meter. This means that the cell phone can also be operated without problems on sunny days.
- Housing: OnePlus uses a plastic cover for both models. However, you cannot remove them. That means: the battery cannot be removed and you will not find a microSD card slot. While the OnePlus One still shone with NFC and inductive charging, the new flagship lacks these functions.
- Buttons: The OnePlus Two's new mute button is practical. How to switch your smartphone to silent mode at lightning speed in meetings without having to take the device out of your pocket. The mechanical home button with integrated fingerprint scanner is also new. Here you can save up to five different patterns and unlock the OnePlus Two in 0.5 seconds.
- Camera: The biggest weak point of the OnePlus One is the camera. Although it has a resolution of 13 megapixels, it has a slight noise and most images appear blurred. The manufacturer wants to have changed that in the new version. The rear camera is now to be supported by physical lenses, an f / 2.0 maximum aperture, 1.3 micron pixels and an optical image stabilizer. The new 5-megapixel wide-angle front camera also looks convincing at first glance.
The inner life: OnePlus Two vs. OnePlus One
OnePlus has also made some improvements to the CPU, RAM and Co. There is also a big change in the operating system.
- CPU: In the OnePlus One, a Snapdragon 801 with four cores and a maximum of 2.5 GHz provides decent power. The manufacturer goes one step further with the new flagship: with the eight-core Snapdragon 810 processor with a maximum of 1.8 GHz, stutters should be a thing of the past.
- RAM: While OnePlus used 3.1 GB of RAM for its first smartphone, it is now a whopping 4 GB. This means that nothing stands in the way of large apps and multitasking.
- Battery: Of course, the new hardware also requires more juice. That's why the OnePlus Two uses 3, 300 mAh instead of 3, 100 mAh. However, you have to do without wireless charging and quick charging.
- LTE: While not all LTE frequencies in Germany were supported with the OnePlus One, there are no longer any restrictions with the successor. You can enjoy LTE speed on any network with your smartphone.
- System: The operating system of the OnePlus One caused a sensation during the release. Here, the manufacturer relied on Android 4.4.2 with CyanogenMod 11. Android 5.0.1 is now available, but no further updates have yet been announced. In the new flagship version, OnePlus relies on the in-house OxygenOS, which is based on Android 5.1.
