OpenOffice: switch off automatic date - how it works
OpenOffice often inserts an automatic date for numbers in table fields. You can also switch it off. We show how it works.
Switch off automatic date in OpenOffice
Especially if you have to work with numbers in tables again and again, it is advisable to deactivate the automatic date recognition. At this point, OpenOffice often turns a date into a simple number without being asked. The deactivation function is somewhat hidden:
- In the OpenOffice document, use the menu bar "Tools"> "Settings".
- Open the "OpenOffice Writer" submenu in the new window.
- Click on "Table" there.
- Remove the check mark in front of "Number format recognition" from the checkbox in the section "Input in tables".
- Save the settings by clicking "OK".
Spell checking can also be annoying. We will explain how to deactivate this in another practical tip.
