OpenOffice: Create diagrams - how it works
You can also create diagrams in OpenOffice and thus better present your documents. We show you how to do this.
Enter the chart values in the OpenOffice table
Before you can create a diagram in OpenOffice, you have to fill it with data. First, think about what you want to represent:
- Enter your categories and products in the first line above. Each product then has its own diagram bar.
- Periods then appear in the left column, for example. In the example, months have been selected. You will find the periods later on the x-axis.
- Then enter your values for the product per month accordingly.
Create charts from the table of values in OpenOffice
You can then create your diagram from the previously defined table:
- Select your entire table. This also includes the defined categories such as products and periods.
- Click on the diagram icon in your toolbar (see photo).
- A new window is opening up. Here you select the type of diagram (columns, bars, circles, areas, lines).
- Optionally, you can also give your "diagram elements" a title or completely hide the legend.
- Confirm your selection with "Finish". The diagram now appears in your document. You can move it freely with the mouse.
In another practical tip, we will show you how you can crop images with OpenOffice.
