OpenOffice: Create an ebook - how it works
With OpenOffice you can not only write text documents, but also create your own ebooks. We'll show you how it's done.
OpenOffice: Create an ebook
OpenOffice does not offer the function itself, but you can integrate it using a small plugin. You can write the ebook like a normal text document with OpenOffice and then save it as an ebook with the free extension Writer2ePub.
- First download the Writer2ePub plugin and install it in OpenOffice. Another practical tip shows you how to install Libre Office extensions.
- Then start the OpenOffice Writer and you will see a green button with an "e" in the top left corner. Once you have completed your document and want to convert it into an ebook, simply click the button.
- Then a small window opens. Here you can edit the metadata of your ebook. Among other things, the title, author, publisher, cover page, a description and even an ISBN can be specified. The ebook is created using the "OK" button.
