OpenOffice: Label the back of the folder
If you want to label a folder spine in OpenOffice, no assistant will help you. We will show you how to create the folder spine yourself in just a few steps.
Label the spine of the folder in OpenOffice
The standard dimensions for file spines are usually 19.1 cm high and 6.1 cm wide. For thin files it is only 3.9 cm wide. However, the dimensions can vary from folder to folder. You may need to make some adjustments here.
- To make creating the folder spine as easy as possible, we advise you to use OpenOffice Calc instead of OpenOffice Writer.
- First, pull the column A 6.1 cm wide. You can now enlarge the lines as required. In this example we choose 4 lines with a total length of 19.1 cm.
- You can now enter a title for the folder in the individual lines, as well as a subtitle or a year, for example.
- In order to identify your folders even better, you can highlight the color of the label. Simply click on the paint bucket in the top right corner and select a color.
- Right-clicking on the cell takes you to the "Format cell" option. Here you can, among other things, rotate the font by 90 degrees.
- Finally, all you have to do is print the file, cut it out and stick it on the back of the folder.
