OpenOffice: Import PDF documents
In OpenOffice you can import and even edit PDF documents. We explain how this works in this guide.
Import PDF documents into OpenOffice
If you want to import a PDF document into OpenOffice, you will only see cryptic characters by default. You therefore need the PDF Import extension. Of course, the latest version of OpenOffice must already be installed on your system.
- Download the add-on and open the OXT file. As a result, the "Extension Manager" from OpenOffice starts automatically.
- Under "PDF Import" click "Activate" and close the Extension Manager.
- To open a PDF document in OpenOffice, right-click on the file and select "Open With". Click on "OpenOffice" in the selection.
- Your PDFs now open automatically in OpenOffice Draw and you can edit both the text and the images there.
You can edit your PDF documents with other programs. For example, you can change the texts in PDF files or sign your documents.
