OpenOffice: Create posters - so it'll work

With OpenOffice you can create posters in all common formats. We will show you the individual steps from creating the document to completion as a PDF.
Create posters with OpenOffice
First you need to choose the right format for your poster:
- Open OpenOffice and click the "Format" menu.
- Because select "Page ..." and click here on the tab "Page".
- Now you can choose how large your poster should be in the "Format" area.

- Next, you should set a background for your poster if you don't want it to stay white. To do this, activate the "Draw" menu via "View"> "Toolbars".
- Now you can use the colorful shapes on the far right to load an image as a background in the document or insert a shape.
- For example, if you want a plain background, select the box and drag it across the entire sheet.
- Then you have to set the desired colors with a right click and "area" and a right click and "line".
- You can now add texts, shapes and pictures as you like and distribute them on the poster.
OpenOffice: Save poster as PDF
- If everything is correct on the poster, all you have to do is save it as a PDF.
- To do this, click on "File"> "Export as PDF".
- Select a quality of 100 percent under "Graphics", activate "Reduce graphics resolution" and then "300 DPI".
- At the very bottom, tick "Embed standard fonts" and then click "Export".
