Instead of always thinking about manually updating OpenOffice, you can simply update the program automatically. Here we show you how easy it is.

Let OpenOffice automatically check for updates. This way your program will always be up to date and safe. That's how it's done:
- Navigate to Tools> Options in the menu.
- In the now open dialog, click on the plus symbol in front of OpenOffice.org and then select the menu item "Online Update". Here you can specify how often the automatic updates are carried out.
- Check "Automatically download updates". Confirm your selection with OK".
- As soon as an update is available, you will be shown this with a download symbol on the top right screen.
- Click the icon to open the update manager. The installation package is then unpacked and started.
- You only have to confirm the individual steps with the "Next" button. The update will then be carried out. Your personal program settings are retained.
