OpenOffice: How do I insert the Trademark (TM) sign?
Unregistered Trade Mark, TM for short, is used for brands that are not yet officially registered. This tip shows you how to insert this symbol in OpenOffice.
The trademark (TM) in OpenOffice
The copyright symbol and the "R" for a registered trademark can be easily inserted at OpenOffice: You just have to write either a "C" or an "R" in parentheses. With the symbol "TM" this is not so easy:
- Open the desired OpenOffice document (Writer) and click on "Insert" in the menu.
- Select "Special Characters". A new window with symbols appears.
- TM can be found in the category "letter symbols". To do this, select this area to the right of the font in the drop-down menu.
- The trademark symbol usually appears in the first or at the latest in the second line. A click on "Insert" or a double click on the symbol inserts the TM character in the document.
