OpenOffice: Where's the automatic hyphenation?
Hyphenation is not easy to find in Open Office - we will help you!
Set automatic hyphenation
Select the part of the text in which you want to activate automatic hyphenation. If you want to use hyphenation for the entire text, you do not need to select anything.
- Click the "Format" button above.
- Then click on the third option "Paragraph".
- By default, the "Indents and clearances" tab opens. You need the "Text Flow" tab.
- At the top you will find the hyphenation directly. Check "Automatic" here.
The settings below correspond to the normal separation rules - at least two characters at the beginning and end of the line.
This procedure works from Open Office 3.4, in earlier versions you may have to do it differently. Do you want to get even more out of your open office? Then you will find the "20 best extensions for OpenOffice" here.
