OpenOffice: Change character spacing
As with Word, you can also change the character spacing in OpenOffice. However, the option is somewhat hidden. We'll show you where to find the right attitude.
Change character spacing in OpenOffice
- Open OpenOffice Writer and then press "Format".
- Now a dropdown menu opens in which you have to click on the "Character" selection.
- There are several tabs in the next window. Here click on "Position".
- In the menu you will find the last section "walking distance". Set this from "Standard" to "Locked". In the field behind you can set your new character spacing.
- Below you will also see a field with a preview. Simply set the distance up to the desired result and then confirm with "OK".
This practical tip relates to OpenOffice 4.0. We'll also show you how to set up landscape in OpenOffice.
