If you want to save the speed dial from Opera or transfer it to another computer, you can export it. We'll show you how to do it.
Opera: How to export the speed dial
In newer versions of Opera, quick dial is a bookmark and can only be exported together with it. To do this, proceed as follows:
- Open the Opera menu and click on "Bookmarks" -> "Show all bookmarks". Alternatively, press the key combination [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [B].
- Select "Export Bookmarks" and enter a save path and file name. Opera saves the bookmarks and the speed dial as an HTML file. Your speed dial entries are listed in the "Speed Dials" section.
Opera: Import quick dial
Unfortunately, there is no way to just import the speed dial into Opera. You must therefore import all bookmarks to restore your entries in the speed dial:
- Open the Opera menu and select "More tools" -> "Import bookmarks and settings ...".
- Select "Bookmark HTML file" in the drop-down list, then click the "Select file" button. Now open the HTML file with your bookmarks and quick selection.
- Unfortunately Opera does not automatically sort the speed dial entries into the speed dial, but copies them into the bookmark directory "Speed Dials". From there you can easily drag and drop your bookmarks into the "Quick Dial" folder.
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to configure the speed dial in Opera and adapt it to your own preferences.
